George Sowerbutts
We regret to announce the recent death of George Sowerbutts whose Blackpool practice was often held up as a shining example to new practitioners. George was a tireless worker both in his practice and for the massage profession. He was a founder member and great supporter of NAMMT and had chaired various other committees over the years. More than this, George was a good friend to so many people and we pass on our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Claire, and members of his family.
There will be a tribute to George in the next issue of Skill Bulletin.

See nammt.co.uk for more information on the AGM

Are you a registered therapist with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)?
Following recent developments at the Ministry of Health and the NHS reorganisation, GPs will be in a much stronger financial decision making position with regard to Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) and therapists. They have been directed to recommend patients requiring CAM treatments only to therapists who are registered with CNHC.
If you are registered with CNHC we recommend that you inform GP practices in your area with concise information about your qualifications and clinical experience, your registration with CNHC, your availability and location for treatments and your treatment fee. MAKE ITCLEAR AND CONCISE.
If you know any of the GPs by name address your information to them personally. Otherwise send the information to the Practice Manager and request that he/she passes on the details to the Gps in the practice.
